Camp Tilikum with Holly's class

They called it a "fishing" day. Thank goodness the fishing part was only about 1/5 of the day. We were lucky enough to have one of the few nice days in May. We did canoeing, hiking, rope bridge, picnic, crafts and saw a few barn animals.... oh yeah, fishing too.

Picnic lunch

Running in the field after lunch.

You don't get this in California.

Rope bridge.
Fishing. No fish caught.

FIREWORKS

We had an unexpected firework display one night. We were putting the girls to bed when we heard a big explosion. We looked out the window and we had a great fireworks show.

Most likely for Cinco De Mayo.

Our first walk to town.....

We took our first walk downtown. We had a great time walking around, but we are still trying to get familiar with the city. We couldn't find a place for lunch so we ended up at the Nordstrom Cafe which was on the 3rd floor with a great view.
The walk home was the hard part. Holly protested the whole way up. We'll try again in a few weeks. I also figured out what bus we can take up the hill. #51!

We moved! Then we got sick! Now Degas.... ahhhhh

Went to see the Degas, Forain, and Toulouse-Lautrec exhibit at the Portland Art Museum. Holly enjoyed this picture in particular. Emma said, "This is boring, it's just learning."
We are just now settling into our new home. It's taken some adjustment time but it's getting better and better. We walked to the Portland Farmers Market on Saturday. It's the best farmers market I've been to, including San Francisco's Ferry Building and Napa Valley's. We are loving the location and we are getting more familiar with downtown.
